Our Purpose
As a church, we believe our primary function is to minister the Word of God in our Sunday worship services, in classes and functions throughout the week, as well as in our community. While many voices in our world claim to have the truth, the Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). The church is the “pillar…of the truth” ( I Timothy 3:15). This means that the church is to hold up God’s word of absolute truth for all to see and benefit from. For this reason, we exist to bring God’s Word to all around us.
Our History
Our congregation belongs to the Free Reformed Churches of North America. This denomination traces its roots to the Protestant Reformation of the 1600s, a time of remarkable revival in the church of Jesus Christ, when the light of God’s truth was re-discovered by men who initially sought to reform the Church of Rome (“Reformers”), but found such opposition to the precious truth of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, that they were forced to continue apart from it.
Our more recent history brings us to North America in the mid-20th century, when immigrants coming to Canada and the United States established churches with a view to continuing a faithful, God-honouring, Christ-centered pattern of worship in their communities. It has always been and continues to be our desire that all those around us would come to the knowledge of the truth, and find true lasting happiness in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
Currently, our denomination is made up of 22 congregations. You can find out more about our denomination by clicking on our denominational site here.
